A Clean Affair

As a pioneer in matters of environmental awareness, Wollsdorf Leder has a clean relationship with its environment. As long ago as 1997 we were the first European leather producers to receive the environmental certificate ISO 14001, which has been re-issued to us annually ever since. What’s more we are also the proud prize-winners of the Austrian Environment Oscar and the Austrian Waste Avoidance Prize.

For the Sake of the Environment
We develop products and processes in such a way that they fulfil their purpose safely and with the least impact on the environment. At the same time, we are careful to save energy and raw materials and we make every endeavour to avoid waste in any form. Any waste which cannot be avoided, we dispose of safely using the latest technologies.

Highest Environmental Standards
A company-owned sewage plant purifies our waste water and the sewage sludges which occur are composted. Overall we currently meet the highest standards in the leather-producing industry which go far beyond the European standard presently applicable. When selecting our suppliers we also pay strict attention to their compliance with environmental criteria.

Transparency
Wollsdorf implements an extended environmental philosophy which also includes the health and safety of employees and the people with whom we maintain contact outside the company. We follow a policy of open communication and strive to maintain constructive relations with all local residents, communities, the media and all authorities concerned.
